MIAMI – May 25, 2007 – rbb Public Relations is a finalist in the Wall Street Journal’s Top Small Workplaces, a national competition to honor the country’s most exceptional small organizations. rbb is one of only 35 finalists from a field of 850 nationwide nominees. The Top Small Workplaces winners will be announced on October 1, 2007, in a Wall Street Journal report on small business and honored at a conference in Chicago. The 35 finalists were chosen from private, nonprofit and publicly held independent companies with no more than $200 million in annual revenues and 500 or fewer employees. The competition is co-sponsored by Winning Workplaces.
“The PR industry has awarded us many wonderful titles - Best Place to Work, Boutique Agency of the Year – but it is exceptionally rewarding to be recognized among all industries nationally by such a distinguished organization as the Wall Street Journal,” said Christine Barney, APR, rbb Public Relations CEO. “Our workplace is the result of the creativity, passion and commitment of our amazing staff.”
The competition seeks companies who foster teamwork, flexibility, high productivity and innovation while treating employees with respect and providing opportunities for professional growth and advancement. It also looks at both traditional and nontraditional benefits that make the employee experience better.
rbb Public Relations believes a key factor in its selection is its Total Rewards Program that includes four areas: pay/benefits; work environment; recognition; learning and development. Benefits include paid cell phones, laptops, use of office services such as postage and phones, free pilates classes, PR pro bonus program, flu shots on premise and paid time off to volunteer. rbb Public Relations built its culture on flexibility and respect, and every staff member, down to the bookkeeper, can determine his/her own schedule and choose the location where work will be done. The firm also has an above average client and employee tenure. The firm’s longest client has been with rbb for 23 years and the average client tenure is 8.5 years in an industry where three years is the norm.
