What should you know about me?
After many years in public relations I still wake up each morning excited about the day ahead. I love learning about a new industry, company or issue. To every challenge I bring the following ground rules: be bold, be simple, be compelling and be measurable. And, I once caught a fish as tall as me.

What career achievement am I most proud of?
Creating and leading an agency where every client is served by a partner, where people and clients stay with us for decades and where good work is done day in and day out.

Why rbb?
If you want a no-nonsense PR firm that has a passion for its work, respects your budget and your time, then rbb Public Relations is the right choice.

The Formal Introduction
Christine M. Barney, APR is chief executive officer and managing partner of rbb Public Relations. She is accredited by the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and oversees the strategic development of all client programs with an eye toward ensuring that meaningful results are measured and achieved.

The Real Story
Formerly a die-hard New Yorker, Christine was "forced" to move to Florida in 1989 for family reasons. She left her position with a large PR firm with a reluctance that was soon replaced by enthusiasm as she discovered her hidden entrepreneurial desires. She landed at Bruce Rubin Associates, a small travel and tourism firm, and in three years was partner of the newly named Rubin, Barney & Birger boasting some of the top corporate names in America among its client roster. Christine watched as the pendulum swung towards clients wanting global communications counsel and took advantage of the trend by selling the firm in 1997 to the largest agency in the world. Five years later, when the pendulum swung back towards nimble, boutique firms, Christine and her partners took the agency independent again. Today, the agency has a creative model for client service and staff development that has been validated by numerous awards and client successes.

The Name Dropping
Christine says she is just as excited working with a Fortune 500 company as she is with an entrepreneurial venture. Her client list proves the point. She develops and coordinates multifaceted communications programs for large corporate clients such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, M&M/Mars and Florida Power & Light Company. She also works with mid-sized entrepreneurial ventures such as Language Line Services, Squire, Sanders & Dempsey and Morrison, Brown, Argiz and Farra.

The Chest Beating
Why bother submitting for awards if you don't want to crow about them is Christine's motto. Her innovative management style led the firm to be included among the Wall Street Journal's top 30 best small workplaces in America for the last two years. While the agency has won every major national communications award in its category over the years, it recently scored multiple wins including three Silver Anvil awards and awards of excellence, a gold SABRE and PRWeek Agency of the Year.

Christine sits on the board of the FIU Metropolitan Center and Chairs the South Florida Good to Great Award program. She is a past president of the Miami Chapter of the PRSA and held the position of Ethics office from 2003-2007. She regularly speaks on marketing and public relations matters. Christine holds a degree in Communications from Ithaca College.
